Everyone left in town had had enough. Young couples, families, even a few old timers.
One such lived just a few doors down and we had been getting along this whole time. He bought all our book-boxes because he has tons of very heavy books.
People would come in and I would ask where they were moving to: “Ohio,” “Indiana,” “Nebraska,” it seemed the Midwest was the most common response.
Now that these mostly “coders,” or “digital marketers” (aka Bezos-slaves) could work from home—why stay stuffed in a boxy apartment? A lot of the old-timers and Southie natives appeared to be going to Texas (perhaps wooed there by our friend in Chapter 4).
In fact, we had to arrange a special delivery of boxes from one of our other locations. So Dave (another Dave (!) and a professed Satanist*, for what it’s worth) had to take the company van from our Brookline location (home of many, many Communists) and fill it with boxes.
They then brought it over to South Boston and unloaded. We were now the moving box king as the based, family-oriented community was quickly leaving town.
I was not yet kicked off of social media, so occasionally I would report about these happenings… from on the ground, in person, in South Boston.
Invariably, I would get responses from people who somehow remained* my “friends”: “That’s not true!” or “You’re lying!” As a former journalist, I naturally have the tendency to tell the truth, and these wackos, despite me telling them what I was experiencing first-hand, refused to accept it.
This would happen again and again (and again), and people kept unfriending me.
They simply refuse to accept truth.
Which means that, of course, leftists stay true to themselves by—accusing you of what they are guilty of.
They are the true “deniers.”
Addendum: I’m purposely leaving out a lot of my own personal details, but long story short: I had recently woken up from a progressive brainwashing and many/most of my friends had refused to talk to me anymore.
And this sort of awakening was increasing each and every day, as the COVID-19 psychosis was doubling and tripling down. And I knew I was not alone.
But it probably all began when the Clinton emails were leaked by Wikileaks via Seth Rich.
At the time, I was a huge Bernie Sanders fan (as was Seth) and so the Clinton emails really upset me. Then slowly, but surely, my belief system was turned inside-out. I started to understand, for example, that “Medicare For All” was and is a total pipe-dream (as I explain here).
And, now, as we tumbled through the amoral and irrational void of masks and lock-down lunacy, I found myself turning back to my faith, to Christianity, for a sense of purpose and reason.
And, as we sold out of moving boxes (for the first time), I started to understand that to maintain my sanity, I would have to leave the city myself …
and do so as soon as I could.
Next week … air conditioners would run out throughout the entire city:
*When I would recount these tales out in my new home of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and how there were Satanists back east, many would scoff and say “But they aren’t real Satanists.”
Let’s check in on Boston:
